Full description
Hawk moths, also known as sphinx moths, are fascinating creatures. Some species can even be mistaken for hummingbirds when they hover around flowers.
This pendant features a real hawk moth specimen with three Ethiopian opals. The copper is finished with a wine-red and brown patina, giving the moth a darker, slightly warmer look while letting the opals bring in a splash of colour.
The surface is sealed with ProtectaClear and finished with Renaissance wax to help preserve the finish.
Jewellery care
Jewellery care
To keep your jewellery looking its best, avoid prolonged contact with water, perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals. Store it separately in a dry place and wipe gently with a soft cloth when needed.
Copper and patinated finishes naturally evolve over time, which is part of their character. Please see the full Jewellery Care guide for detailed advice.

Handmade & ethical sourcing
Handmade & ethical sourcing
Every piece is individually made and finished by hand, so small variations are part of its character.
Natural specimens, where used, are sourced from old collections, educational or scientific rejects, or found deceased where lawful. I do not use protected species. Some designs use high-quality replicas instead, and this is always stated in the product details.
